First, I want to clarify that this type of rice has many names to it. I tend to call it Mexican Rice because I am Mexican and I grew up eating this rice every single day. But you might hear it being called Spanish Rice, Red Rice, or even Arroz Rojo. Regardless, the flavor is the same, and it is so easy to make!

Homemade Spanish Rice Recipe

Cook Time: 25 Minutes

Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon Loubier Gourmet Hot or Mild Chipotle Seasoning
- 1 Cup White Rice
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- ¼ White Onion
- 2 Tomatoes
- 2 Tablespoons Oil
- Water
Directions

Step 1
Place a heavy skillet over medium-high heat and add oil once it has warmed up. Add rice and stir until rice is golden brown. -
Step 2
In a blender, add your garlic, onion, tomatoes, Loubier Gourmet Hot or Mild Chipotle Seasoning, and a small amount of water. Blend, and add water until purée equals a total of 2 cups. -
Step 3
Add purée to the rice, lower heat and cover. -
Step 4
Simmer for 20-25 minutes until all liquid is absorbed. -
Step 4
Remove from heat and allow to sit, covered, for 5 minutes. -
Step 5
Fluff with a fork and serve. -
